FAQs

What is the AAE Live Learning Center, and why does it exist?
The Live Learning Center is the AAE’s new distance learning platform. It gives endodontists and other dental professionals access to the most reliable endodontic education available today from a home or office computer. This exciting service is an outgrowth of the AAE’s dedication to excellence in the art and science of endodontics, and the highest standard of patient care. It supports our vision to be a global resource in endodontic knowledge and education for the profession, our members and the public.

What content is available on the Live Learning Center?
Select recordings from the 2008 Annual Session were made available last year, and will continue to be accessible. This year, more than 150 credit hours of content from the 2009 Annual Session will be available, including the Pre‐Session Symposium. Additional content will be added to build the Live Learning Center library, with AAE Events such as the Fall Conference, Submitted Courses and Clinical Newsletters rounding out the offerings later this year.

What is the format of Live Learning Center content?
Sessions are captured live as they happen during the Annual Session, and are digitally recreated into a multimedia file that synchronizes the audio recording of the speaker with their PowerPoint® presentation. These files are available using your Live Learning Center account online, and can be played on a home or office computer, laptop, or they can be downloaded in an MP3 format for portable listening. Handouts for the session are also available for download. Archives of all the recordings are available in a CD‐ROM format for an additional charge.

Can I earn Continuing Education credit by using the Live Learning Center?
Yes. Starting with the 2009 Annual Session, CE will be available to anyone who purchases the session recordings. Those who are interested can view the session of their choice and complete a short online test. CE credit will be awarded pending successful completion of the test, and will be tracked in your Live Learning Center account online.

I already attend the Annual Session in person – why should I consider using the Live Learning Center?
Nothing can replace the experience you get when you attend a meeting in person. However, with schedules sometimes being limited and course offerings plentiful, it’s possible that you may not be able to attend every session that interests you. Or, you might find certain presentations so valuable that you plan to use them as training tools for colleagues, or wish to add them to your personal library for future reference.

The Live Learning Center allows you to do all of these things. And, on those occasions when you really can’t attend a meeting in person, you can still benefit from all of the same cutting‐edge research and quality education you’ve come to expect from the AAE.

How much does it cost?
Unlimited online access to session recordings costs only $299, with a complete session archive on CD‐ROM available for an additional $50.

I’m not sure how all of this works. Can I try it before making a purchase?
Yes. Preview sessions are available for you to test on the Live Learning Center Web site. Read session descriptions and explore the many functions of the Live Learning Center while watching an actual session recording. You can make your purchase online at any time with a valid credit card using our secure site.
