Description
Patients want beautiful, natural smiles that light up their face, instill confidence, and last a lifetime. Many orthodontic treatment approaches focus on the mechanical aspects of treatment and not the desired esthetic outcome. We find outcomes are enhanced by incorporating a visual model suited to meld the art with the science of orthodontics.
The Goals-Oriented Approach to Orthodontic Planning and Treatment is a visual model that treats orthodontics as an art supported by science. It teaches the practitioner to see the big picture and then focus on the technical aspects of treatment. This approach does not require the doctor to use one specific orthodontic system or appliance. In fact, it gives the doctor the freedom to use components of all systems to obtain the best possible outcome based on the underlying visual treatment goals.
For pediatric dentists who do not practice orthodontics, this lecture will provide invaluable information that can be shared with orthodontists as you both work to ensure your mutual patients receive outstanding results. We believe if you know what you want for your patients and how to ask for it, the higher is the likelihood that you will get it. The presentation will define the Goals-Oriented Approach and provide specific cases to illustrate how the presenters have successfully incorporated this approach into their practices.
