Jennie Mayfield, BSN, MPH, CIC, Clinical Epidemiologist, Infection Prevention Department, Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine
Jennie Mayfield received a BSN from the University of Colorado and MPH from the University of North Carolina and has worked in infection control and prevention in community and academic settings for over 20 years. Jennie is currently a clinical epidemiologist in the Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Prevention Department at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, MO. Her focus since 2003 has been patients with cancer, and she is responsible for the infection prevention program in inpatient and outpatient treatment facilities of the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish/Washington University. In addition to infection prevention in oncology patients, Jennie has a special interest in Clostridium difficile and has presented abstracts covering various C diff issues at both APIC and SHEA national meetings. She was an invited participant in a global consensus conference on prevention and control of C. difficile infection in Toronto, August, 2007.
