The presenter will discuss hospital patient case studies using CDC surveillance definitions to identify healthcare-associated infections. Participants will have an opportunity to test their knowledge of applying the criteria of the surveillance case definitions.;Objectives: • Recognize the importance of standardized case definitions for surveillance • Review selected CDC case definitions and apply to case studies
