Objectives:
- Participants will understand the clinical and molecular epidemiology of MRSA in the United States, focusing on the epidemiology of colonization.
- Participants will understand the complexities of infection control and prevention in the newborn period based on what is currently known about MRSA colonization in the peripartum period.
- Participants will understand novel approaches to diagnosis and prevention of MRSA in the newborn period.
- Explain the clinical and molecular epidemiology of MRSA in the U.S., focusing on the epidemiology of colonization.
- List the complexities of infection control and prevention in the peripartum period for mothers and babies.
