Description
The growing prevalence of Google Earth and other geo-location services makes the whole of the web, like all politics, local. The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has launched a multi-layered effort, in partnership with Google, to contextualize architecture data and content from a geographic perspective. Learn how AIA's underlying technologies are being leveraged, what processes were deployed to create this integration, and what process gaps were uncovered.
Objective:
1. How Google Earth, and geo-location in general, can be leveraged to increase relevancy
2. What relevant file formats and tools are applicable and available
3. How the AIA is planning to use this technology moving forward
