Discuss specific practices you can implement to ensure that the governance of your certification program supports the integrity required of the credential, protects the certification program, minimizes risk to your association, and serves the needs of your stakeholders.

Participants will learn the fundamental differences between governing a membership-based association and governing a certification program for individuals. Differences will address fiduciary responsibility, conflict-of-interest, due process, and organizational/operational structure., Participants will learn about best practices as outlined in certification industry standards., Participants will learn how to structure or restructure the governing bodies of their certification programs to comply with best practices, including strategies to recruit and nominate leadership; developing key program policies; and defining the roles and responsibilities of the certification governing body and the sponsoring Association.
