Track: January 2004 - July 2004
Date: Thursday, June 10, 2004
Description
Sponsored by the International Section

The potential for expanding membership and services to China’s enormous market of 1.3 billion people may be obvious. But what may not be obvious are the extreme complexities of successfully operating in the Chinese market. China constitutes a complex business environment due to unfamiliar and constantly changing economic, political, social, and cultural conditions. Being able to identify and understand such conditions is paramount to achieving success in China.

In the first part of this facilitated Knowledge Network (the first in a series on China), you will learn how China’s diverse culture may greatly enhance or inhibit your organization’s ability to conduct business in China. Dr. Minxin Pei of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace presents the second section and will focus on the political and economic aspects of China’s tremendous economic growth and ongoing transition as it relates to the stability of the business environment in China.

This exciting and innovative Knowledge Network will provide you with the foundation you need to identify and understand key success factors for operating in China.
