For the last 4 years, Charlie Jones has served as Vice President of Marketing, Communications and Membership for the Heart Rhythm Society in Washington, DC and is responsible for all marketing, communications, public relations, media and membership efforts for the Society. The Heart Rhythm Society is the international leader in science, education and advocacy for cardiac arrhythmia professionals and patients, and the primary information resource on heart rhythm disorders. The Society has a membership of more than 5,100 heart rhythm professionals in more than 72 countries around the world. Its annual conference, Heart Rhythm Scientific Sessions, attracts more than 14,000 clinical, science and industry attendees from all around the world.
Before transitioning to association management, Charlie spent 10 years with AT&T in various leadership roles including sales and marketing, corporate relations and strategic alliances, in which he led the development and execution of international forums for shared “best practices” among thirty Fortune 500 companies, and an effective platform for global multi-cultural business development.
In 2001, Charlie left AT&T to join a team of executives from AT&T and British Telecom to start a new global venture, Concert Communications, based in Hong Kong. During his tenure there, he developed unique brand initiatives and business alliances in China, Japan, Thailand and Russia.
Charlie is a frequent speaker at association conferences and the immediate past chair of the ASAE Marketing Section Council. He obtained his Bachelors of Science from the University of Evansville and more recently in 2009, earned his Certified Association Executive Certification (CAE).
