Description
Many volunteer programs are still focused on the long-term commitment tailored for the traditional volunteer of the 70s, 80s and 90s. Additionally, we find ourselves repeatedly tapping the same people – creating a sense that once a volunteer, always a volunteer. This is in direct conflict with what more volunteers are asking for today and it doesn't address the wants and needs of the new generations. So, we're putting an association's volunteer management program on trial. Our witnesses will include volunteers from every age group and you will be the jury. After we uncover the negative side of volunteer management, we'll explore ways associations are changing with a discussion on creating an inviting, open volunteer environment.
