Description
With over 35 possible tax code status offerings to choose from, it is easy to lose track of the ins and outs of each one. Do you know if your current exempt status accurately reflects your organization’s activities–and allows for them? Examine common tax exemptions (c3, c4, c5, c6, c7, c9) and each one's features, advantages and disadvantages. Explore situations when your reaction to the circumstances may be in violation of your tax exempt status and tackle the question of the benefits and timeliness of adding for-profit entities. In light of the attention being paid by Congress to the non-profit sector, all organizations should consider reviewing their current exempt status to ensure it is relevant to, and in alignment with, the activities and mission of your organization today.
