With media reports of bribery and lobbyists buying Congressional influence through campaign cash, trips and other gifts, this session is a “must-attend” for anyone who deals with political action committees (PACs) or lobbying. Topics include federal and state laws governing PAC solicitations and communications to association members; the use of association and association member resources for PAC activities; federal tax rules affecting the deductibility of dues and the amount and nature of lobbying that can be done by various types of associations; and the federal registration and reporting requirements for individuals and entities that lobby Congress and the Executive Branch.
