Description
Soft tissue and bone sarcomas make up a large proportion of pediatric tumors referred for radiotherapy. The field of pediatric sarcomas is constantly changing with numerous active clinical trials ongoing. Similarily, several very large COG randomized trials in pediatric Hodgkin lymphoma have recently been completed and results will alter the stanard of care. This session will provide the attendee with up to date information on the optimal treatment of these common pediatric malignancies. At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be able to do the following: 1. Identify current treatment guidelines for rhabdomyosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma and other pediatric sarcomas. 2. Review current, ongoing clinical trial for pediatric sarcomes and Hodgkin lymphoma. 3. Discuss the controversies, indications, and potential late effects of radiotherapy in pediatric Hodgkin lymphoma.
