Description
This course presents a Tumor Board setting for discussion of head and neck cancer management. It demonstrates the interaction and differing perspective of the primary specialties of radiation and medical oncology and head and neck surgery. The three radiation oncologists offer differing approaches and will strengthen the attendees' knowledge of the role of the radiation oncologist in the tumor board setting. Literature supporting a particular treatment choice will be included as indicated. The case will illustrate the standards of care for treating common head and neck malignancies, as well as the indications and rationale for considering alternative therapies. At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be able to do the following: 1. Discuss multidisciplinary tumor board type presentations on a variety of interesting head and neck cases. 2. Define the standards of care for a spectrum of common and challenging head and neck malignancies using tumor board format with multidisciplinary discussion.
