Ronald C. Merrell, MD, FACS, Professor of Surgery, Director, Medical Informatics and Technology Applications Consortium, Virginia Commonwealth University
Dr. Ronald C. Merrell leads the Medical Informatics and Technology Applications Consortium (MITAC) at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond. MITAC is a laboratory of telemedicine dedicated to telemedicine and medical informatics. MITAC develops sensors, telecommunications protocols, effector software / middleware / hardware and process simulators. MITAC utilizes test beds for evaluating technology and validates medical procedures that rely upon informatics. Dr. Merrell has been awarded numerous citations by NASA including its public service medal three times.

Kathleen MacMahon, MS, RN, FNP-BC is the research coordinator for the Home Monitoring Study for Lung Transplant Patients at the University of Minnesota since October 2005. She is also a practicing Family Nurse practitioner in Minneapolis.
Leon Lem, BScN, Telehealth Program Coordinator, University Health Network
Leon joined the Telehealth Program in 2009 from the Toronto Central Community Care Access Centre where he was involved in the development of an Electronic Health Record system. As a member of the Telehealth Team he works closely with partner organizations to provide clinical consultations and support professional educational events for individuals and communities on a local, regional and national level. Leon has a Bachelor of Science Nursing and Certificate in Leadership and Management and a Certificate in Critical Care from Ryerson Polytechnic University. Leon has a broad clinical background that includes Pediatric/Adult Transplantation, Emergency and Community Care.
Stanley M. Finkelstein is a Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. His research interests focus on the design and evaluation of home telehealth systems for the elderly, home monitoring for lung transplant recipients, and patient adherence. Dr. Finkelstein is the Director of the Schmitt Center for Home Telehealth at the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the IEEE Transactions on Information Technology in Biomedicine. Dr. Finkelstein is a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering.
