Bonnie received her BSN and MSN from ECU in Greenville NC. Bonnie is recognized as a pioneer and leader in Home Telehealth and has published and presented extensively. She has implemented over 300 telehealth programs, served on ATA BOD, and chaired ATA’s Home Teleheatlh Clinical Guidelines team. Bonnie is the current Vice-Chair for ATA’s Home Telehealth and Remote Monitoring SIG and serves as the Telehealth Network Clinical Director and Development Director for Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center where she has successfully implemented a three year Patient Provider Telehealth Network which expanded to six NC Community Health Centers in August 2009.
Ellen Bolch is President and CEO of THA Group, a leading-edge home health, hospice, private life care, and geriatric care management company serving the coastal areas of Georgia and South Carolina. As an early adopter of telehealth, Ms. Bolch speaks natioally on developing new models for in-home care delivery incorporating technology. As an industry leader in the filed of telehealth, Ms. Bolch was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by Honeywell/HomMed for her contributions.
Kim A. Schwartz, MA, CEO, Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center
Kim is the CEO of Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center. Under Kim’s leadership RCCHC is the first CHC in the nation to integrate remote monitoring as a part of the medical home model and in July 2009, expanded to seven other NC CHCs. Kim has been appointed and served on a number of key committees and boards including the New Mexico Board of Psychologist Examiners and the North Carolina Human Service Division Governor’s Transition Team. Kim received her MA degree in Counseling Education, Multicultural Honors from the University of New Mexico.
Susan Makela, MPA, Director , Upper Peninsula Telehealth Network, Marquette General Health System
Ms. Makela has a Master’s in Public Administration with a Healthcare Concentration from Northern Michigan University and Bachelors in Nursing from Eastern Michigan University. She currently serves as the Director of the Upper Peninsula Telehealth Network (UPTN) at Marquette General Health System, a 315-bed regional medical center. Susan has 28 years of nursing experience, critical care and management. As Director of the UPTN, Susan initiated the growth of telemedicine and reimbursement in the region. She has assisted in the development of a number of federal and state grants that support technology in healthcare for this rural region of Michigan.
