1.Outline an etiology basis for defining malnutrition
2.Describe current and proposed ICD-9 malnutrition terminology
3.Analyze problems resulting from variability in criteria used to document malnutrition
4.Describe progress-to-date in the development of evidence-based ADA/A.S.P.E.N. consensus determined markers of malnutrition
5.Utilize and promote a single, standardized set of markers to diagnose malnutrition and discriminate between levels of severity
6.Collect data to validate this approach to malnutrition diagnosis and characterization
