Kelly Tappenden, PhD, RD, Professor of Nutrition and Gastrointestinal Physiology, Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, Champaign, IL
Description
"Intestinal failure exists when an individual has inadequate intestinal
function to satisfy their nutrient and fluid requirements. Parenteral
nutrition has long been a vital therapy for these individuals,
but is now being optimized and further complimented with use of
modified diets, pharmacological stimuli, reconstructive surgery and
organ transplantation. Attend this session to be the first to hear the
latest advances discussed in the NIH-sponsored research workshop
preceding CNW10."
