"The importance of nutrition support teams in optimizing patient
safety and cost savings has been documented in recent literature.
Additionally, working in a nutrition support team environment
allows team members to generate ideas, work on a common goal in
a timely fashion, and contribute a range of skills from each discipline.
However, how does one get their facility to start this practice?
Despite the positive outcomes and improvement to patient care,
many facilities have met resistance and have been unable to form
or continue nutrition support teams. This session will provide an
overview of the state of nutrition support teams, development of a
nutrition support team and roles of members of a nutrition support
team. Plus, you’ll learn tips on how to effectively work with other
nutrition support team disciplines to meet the team’s objectives and
methods to sustain a nutrition support team."
