A range of experts will discuss issues related to using a dedicated energy crop as a feedstock for a cellulosic biorefinery: Abengoa will discuss its plans for a cellulosic biorefinery based in Colwich, Kan., which will be partially based on dedicated energy crops; and Ceres will discuss its plans to provide dedicated energy crops for Abengoa's biorefinery as well as its views on the broader potential for dedicated energy crops.
Objectives:
Gain a better understanding of how the cellulosic ethanol industry is evolving and the role that dedicated energy crops are beginning to play in this industry.
Learn about the need for and the process of coordinated planning between a company building a biorefinery and a provider of dedicated energy crops.
Learn about the advantages of dedicated energy crops as a feedstock for cellulosic biorefineries and the characteristics of switchgrass that make it an attractive dedicated energy crop.
