Description
Complex international research/development collaboration agreements between pharma and biotech companies are increasingly the vehicle of choice for identification and development of new biopharmaceutical products, despite significant hurdles. Successful negotiation and crafting of such agreements requires both parties to overcome significant hurdles not encountered in less involved licensing agreements. This session will discuss strategies and techniques for achieving a "win/win" result in crafting and drafting an international, multiproduct, research/development collaboration agreement, drawing upon recent successful completion of the Novo Nordisk/Innate Pharma collaboration agreement and similar deals.

Objectives:
  • Teach participants how to identify and handle hurdles and risks in negotiating and preparing a multiproduct, global collaboration agreement between an established company and a start-up.

  • Outline ways to structure a multiproduct, global collaboration agreement that results in a "win/win" result for both parties.

  • Share best practices for completing such an agreement and ensuring success of such a collaboration.
