Description
In the public mind, agricultural biotechnology is too often associated only with transgenic technology. But in fact, advances in genomics, precision breeding and bioinformatics are transforming modern agriculture, not only for the production of new fruit, vegetables and livestock, but also to the search for new biomaterials, human health and the environment.

Objectives:
  • Provide a window into other recent advances in biotech applications to agriculture, including the rarely discussed livestock industry.

  • Provide new and appealing concepts to communicate to the public.

  • Predict what the future will bring in this field.
