Description
Panelists will explore both the ideal and the reality of personalized medicine, which brings advances in genomics, cell engineering and information management to bear on the rational design of therapeutic and health maintenance regimens tailored to the needs of individual patients. They will present key advances in whole-genome sequencing, biomarker identification and detection, cell-based therapies and patient data management/confidentiality, with emphasis on the technological, regulatory, economic and ethical issues that surround each.



Objectives:
  • Update participants on key advances in whole genome sequencing and analysis.

  • Address technical and ethical issues that surround the provision of genetic testing services and the handling of personal genomic data.

  • Impart understanding of scientific, regulatory, economic and other challenges to the development of stem cell therapeutics.
