Description
The presence of cancer stem cells is creating a paradigm shift in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and will require further innovation on the part of oncology drug development companies. Will sufficient investment and partnering interest exist to support the new companies that are forming?
Objectives:
Provide an overview of what cancer stem cells are and how they differ from normal, nonmalignant stem cells.
Educate participants on the implications that cancer stem cells will have on cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Outline the scientific findings surrounding cancer stem cells and introduce the organizations that are engaged in this research area.
