Description
The panel will address the increased incidence and sophistication of animal rights extremism as it crosses state and international borders. We will discuss: crisis prevention and management; proposed federal legislation to protect the research industry from increasing terrorist-like activities; the UK experience with animal extremists and countermeasures; and U.S. law enforcement insights and strategies.
Objectives:
Inform the biotech research community about the goals and tactics—legal and illegal—of the animal rights movement.
Provide strategies and solutions for the biotech community to counter threats from animal rights extremists.
Update biotech research professionals about new federal legislation, animal law activism, law enforcement activities and international trends affecting animal research.
