Description
The panel will address the increased incidence and sophistication of animal rights extremism as it crosses state and international borders. We will discuss: crisis prevention and management; proposed federal legislation to protect the research industry from increasing terrorist-like activities; the UK experience with animal extremists and countermeasures; and U.S. law enforcement insights and strategies.



Objectives:
  • Inform the biotech research community about the goals and tactics—legal and illegal—of the animal rights movement.

  • Provide strategies and solutions for the biotech community to counter threats from animal rights extremists.

  • Update biotech research professionals about new federal legislation, animal law activism, law enforcement activities and international trends affecting animal research.
