Description
The capability to tailor crop feedstocks for enhanced energy yields is unique to the biomass domain and offers relatively rapid innovation and product development (compared against extractive industries such as coal and oil). Other benefits include reduced emission of CO2 from fossil fuels, increased energy independence, production of higher-value dried distillers grain and new agricultural by-products.

Objectives:
  • Summarize status, advantages and drawbacks of energy crops.

  • Discuss technical objectives, challenges and by-products.

  • Forecast the environmental and industrial impact of energy crops.
