Description
Argentina is the only South American country with three Nobel Prize winners in medicine and chemistry, and the country's embrace of science is reflected in 1) the massive adoption of GM crops; 2) the more than 70 Argentinean biotechnology companies with products in local and international markets, with the sector showing the highest rate of investment in R&D compared with other industrial sectors; and recent increases in government and international cooperation agreements, which are expected to boost development.
