Description
The European Union provides public funds (about US $1 billion annually) for life sciences research through its research funding programs, the Framework Programs, which is open for collaboration between EU-based organizations and nearly all the countries in the world. This session features high-level speakers from the European Commission, which is the EU's executive branch that manages these funds.

Objectives:
  • Gain knowledge about the funding opportunities for business in the funding program.

  • Learn about the funding opportunities for cooperation between EU-based companies and researchers with organizations outside the EU, notably Asia, Africa and South America.

  • Gain knowledge about the Human Potential Program, which was formerly known as the EC Marie Curie fellowship program.
