Description
This session will revisit the National Biotechnology Policy the Malaysian prime minister launched in 2005, recap the key initiatives and concepts that underpin the policy and explain how it will transform biotech as a key driver of the Malaysian economy. International biotech industry leaders and the policy's proponents will discuss the progress of, commitment to and challenges faced by the country toward establishing itself as a key participant in the global biotech market space.



Objectives:
  • Assess the country's progress toward an environment conducive for biotech ventures to prosper in areas of human capital efforts, funding availability and legal framework and infrastructure.

  • Look into challenges that will need to be addressed to ensure biotech's sustainable growth.

  • Listen to the views of the industry to help chart future directions.
