Description
Facebook, IM, texting, podcasts...the ways that students interact and communicate with each other are innumerable! Their world is 24/7/365. They've got what they want, when they want it, where they want it and how they want it. So why do employers and career services professionals feel that interacting and communicating with them needs to be in person, at set times, and in set places? We believe that those colleges and employers who embrace the way that today's students communicate and network will have more access to students if they learn to leverage technologies that students use on a daily basis. During this session we will provide foundational information about the social networking behaviors of students, educate career services professionals and employers about technologies available to connect with students, and spark discussion and idea sharing about how we can enhance our programs and practices by leveraging these capabilities. Come join us as we explore how to converse with students in their "language."
