Description
On July 16, 2007 a new Department of Labor rule became final requiring employers, including institutions of higher education to pay for the first step of the permanent residence process for foreign national employees. Not only does this impose an administrative and budgetary nightmare on colleges, it also creates an additional barrier for international students seeking to enter the US workforce. This session will explain the rule, and explore various models colleges and private employers are utilizing to deal with it, including use of outside counsel.
