Description
'Minute Clinics' engage students in career conversations as they exit the classroom. Career Services partners with faculty members to reach the students who are too busy to enter the doors of the career center. A five-minute career video is shown before class begins to spark the audience's interest. After lecture, as students leave the classroom, they see the 'Minute Clinic' at the door. A creative, and somewhat edgy, portable banner is manned by student volunteers to catch student's attention for a 'minute' between classes. The 'Minute Clinic' conversation promotes career resources to students who may otherwise be unaware of the services. Eight different banner stands and topics rotate on a weekly basis. Techniques to train the student volunteers will be shared. The budget for this program will also be analyzed. Our surveys show that students are inundated with emails, so we will implement this new marketing strategy to be launched in August 2007. Evaluations demonstrating the success of 'Minute Clinics' will be available in Decemeber to share with the evaluation committee, if desired.
