Description
"There is no doubt that during this economic downturn career centers are working harder than ever to achieve their goals. However, while we're focused on navigating these turbulent waters, we can easily forget about positioning our organizations for the future. Charting a clear path for the future is critical, especially during this period. This session will highlight strategic planning efforts from three diverse university career centers. Learn how these organizations engaged staff in the process and have produced results despite budget cuts. Participants will receive sample materials and learn about various tools and techniques, including needs assessment, focus groups, and internal and external review. The panel will discuss their experience with connecting efforts to employee performance, using organizational scoreboards, and leveraging strategic planning results into organizational wins. Participants will discuss case studies and how to replicate these practices in their organization. NACE Standards describe strategic planning as a key component of an effective career services office. How can you help your organization embrace the future rather than fear it? This session outlines proven strategic planning processes that gain staff buy-in and helps your organization move forward.
