Description
"Career development of college students is more important now than ever. Because of the recent economic downturn, university athletic departments realize this is also true for the college student-athlete. However, there continues to be a consistent lack of traffic flow into campus career centers from the student-athlete population. This session recognizes the unique culture in working with both student-athletes and athletic departments within the campus community, and will show you how to develop a successful platform to assist in bridging the gap between intercollegiate athletics and your career center. Engage in open and frank dialogue about critical career development issues facing today's student-athletes on campus. Learn about more than 10 years of best practices so you can apply winning strategies used to mentor, career coach and facilitate skills-transitioning. A ""train the trainer"" manual will be provided to aid in offering student-athlete friendly resources and development.
