Description
"In today's rapid response to green jobs, employers, universities, and colleges are trying to identify exactly what ""green"" really means. We are looking to employers and educators to set the structure for creating a clear green philosophy and identifying the skills students need to qualify for green jobs. A significant tool in the quest for measuring green is the career portfolio. Join this session to learn the components of a green portfolio, how industry uses it to skill harvest, and recognize the potential for the portfolio as a lifetime career companion. Whether an industry is adding green components to existing practices or representing cutting-edge technology in implementing a new standard, good green training and education are clear about the knowledge, skills, abilities, tools, and technologies needed to prepare students for green collar jobs. We will look at how you can identify components of the greening trend, structure curriculum to align CIP data to occupation codes, and react quickly to the changing needs of industry. The green career portfolio is not just for green industries—it's about demonstrating the ability to incorporate green into any career track.
