Description
"As professionals within career services, we naturally have deep passions, interests, and core leadership strengths that are developmentally focused. We serve others and help them grow, and can also add value to the organization and assist our colleagues to grow as well. So how can career services professionals grow their individual development leadership skills at the personal, interpersonal, and organizational level within higher education? This session will review a case study in developmental leadership that meets participants where they are. Ideas, insights, and the possibilities to grow and provide personal, interpersonal, and/or organizational leadership development capabilities will be explored at all three levels by a veteran in the field of individual and organization development and career services. This workshop will raise the consciousness of the basic motivators that drive our pursuits as developmental leaders; help participants understand just how important change leadership factors in to our developmental leadership success; and offer a framework to guide our own leadership development work at the personal, inter-personal, and organizational level. Participants will examine a new development paradigm to adopt, mold, and motivate their personal and professional lives, those they serve, and the higher education organizations where they live.
