Description
"Knowing if students like career services’ advising is one thing, but being able to document specific learning and outcomes is another. American University (AU) successfully implemented a questionnaire that we send to students in the summer, asking them to reflect on these issues as they relate to advising appointments with the career center. In this interactive session, we'll lead participants through a process for drafting an instrument to have students self-report advising-related learning, actions taken, and outcomes achieved as a result of advising appointments. After sharing the results of AU's “After the Appointment,” we'll lead a discussion of how to use data to improve advising as well as creatively “blowing our own horn.”
