Business:
- Helped take the farm from a large truck farm operation to one of Arizona’s top rated tourist attractions. (ranked 17 in 2011 book of lists).
- Carrie has created a social media following for farm events on Twitter and Facebook.
- She has created long time farm partnerships with major companies such as: Sonic, Arizona Republic, Salt River Project, FRY’S, 3TV and Clearchannel radio.
- She has helped develop the Schnepf Farms “Brand” announcing that the State’s largest grocery retailer (Fry’s) is selling Schnepf Farms Chili.
- Created a “must visit” Celebrity corn maze with visits from honoree’s such as Steve Nash, Larry King and Mohammad Ali.
- Carrie started an education program on the farm where 25-thousand school children visit and tour the farm in a 3-month period.
- She is the marketing director and festival coordinator for such events at Schnepf Farms Pumpkin & Chili Party and the Queen Creek Peach Festival that attract over 250-thousand people to the farm.
- Carrie is past President of the North American Farmers Direct Marketing Association, an international association of family farmers who sell direct to the public.
- Carrie spent 10 years as a television anchor and reporter at stations in Salt Lake City, Boise, Idaho and KPHO in Phoenix, Arizona.
Community Service:
- Carrie currently sits on the board for Johnjay and Rich (radio personalities) Care for Kids Foundation.
- Carrie is the past board chair of Special Olympics Arizona for 3 years and past board member for 10 years.
- She chaired an event “Night for Life” raising funds for AIDS research.
- She recently chaired the largest fundraiser for March of Dimes, a Night in DC.
- She chaired the a fundraising dinner for Home Base Youth Services, bringing in Dr. Richard Carmona, Surgeon General of the United States. (2003)
- She was the past Auction Chair for Heart Ball, benefiting Arizona Chapter of the American Heart Association. (2004)
- Carrie Schnepf is past Vice President and sustaining member of Desert Club, a 50-year-old service organization.
- Carrie is founder of Project BEST, a program that takes underprivileged Queen Creek children shopping for back to school clothes.
- She sits on the fundraising committee for PreHab of Arizona, a non-profit organization that supports homes and programs for teenage boys and girls and shelters for abused women.
Honors:
- Carrie was a top ten finalist for the Athena Award, presented by the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce.
- She received the “Friend of Agriculture” award from the AZ Dept. of Ag.
- Carrie Received the Chairman’s Award from Arizona Special Olympics for her volunteerism
- She was presented with the “Women who Care” Award in 1999 by Phoenix Theatre Company
- Carrie has performed the National Anthem at several Phoenix Suns, National Hockey League, Arizona Rattlers, Phoenix Smash and spring training games. Also for the opening session for the Arizona Legislature. And the “Lord’s Prayer,” at Child help USA Christmas Tree Lane, and “God Bless America” at AFW Events.
- She recorded her first CD Titled “Season of Seasons” with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
Personal:
- Carrie Schnepf is a fifth generation Arizonan. She lives with her husband Mark, who is the former Mayor of Queen Creek, and is the mother of four children, Connor, Grayson, McCall & Hayden, ages 12 to 17 years old.
