Description
In recent years, gifted education policy research in the U.S. has offered analysis of state and national policies and explored related issues such as curriculum, equity, grouping, and school reform. This presentation brings together work done by the NAGC State Policy Task Force on essential components in gifted policy development illustrated through examples drawn from a case study of gifted education policy in one state. The presentation briefly addresses what makes up and affects gifted policy as well as a few of the most challenging policy issues in gifted education.
