Description
The Advanced Placement program has been a staple of secondary offerings for gifted secondary students since the 1950s. Should it be? So much about AP has changed. This presentation traces the evolution and growth of the AP program, identifying seminal paradigm shifts in how AP has been used, with special attention to the role of AP on college admissions and its growing influence on state educational policy. The session closes with recommendations regarding AP and gifted students derived from a diverse body of research.
