Description
Dr. Ted Sizer, best known for his role in educational reform, once uttered a simple yet thought-provoking axiom, "The school's schedule is a series of units of time; the clock is king." Teachers often wish for "more time in the day" or "less information to be covered." This workshop will focus on effective uses of time and take-home strategies to instill a love of learning, enhance creativity, promote critical thinking, and encourage what Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi (1990) identified as flow. Various aspects of learning and motivation will inspire participants to engage in deep and creative thinking, as well as hands-on learning.
