Description
The session highlights the experiences of flow (i.e. clear goals, intense concentration, enjoyment, loss of self-consciousness, transformation of time) among 14 teacher-nominated adolescents who are talented both in the arts and their academics and are enrolled in a specialized arts secondary school in Singapore. Environmental supports that enable expressions of artistic inclinations and identities within the Singapore context were revealed and implications for arts-educators and artist-practitioners were explored. This session is most useful to educators of young artists on how they could consistently engage their students interest and motivation in and passion for the arts.
