Description
In this literature rich session, participants will examine the many facets of children’s literature. The attributes of literature and quality illustrations for the young advanced readers will be discussed, global themes and essential questions that enhance critical and creative thinking will be shared using literature examples, and there will be a focus on literacy strategies that promote higher level thinking in a balanced yet advanced literacy program that promotes comprehension of text. Please join this lively session as we ponder quality children’s literature and appropriate chapter books for young yet precocious consumers of literature.
