Description
This workshop focuses exclusively on addressing the unique social-emotional needs of gifted Black males. Workshop participants are introduced to theories in the field of African-Centered Psychology and their authors. Participants develop an increased understanding of how culture and history have negatively impacted the lives of gifted Black males once they have been exposed to the theories related to African-Centered Psychology. Participants are able to identify ways gifted programs can address the social-emotional needs of Black males.
