Description
The presenters have documented that academic outcomes improve when lessons are taught using real world applications. Eight contextual units, including two NAGC award winners, are reviewed in this workshop. An exploration of these units will enable gifted specialists to learn to provide services while students are actively engaged in curriculum, teachers to learn to use context to reach all students, and administrators to learn about a mechanism that leads to increased collaboration among teams of teachers. Particular attention is paid to issues that enable attendees to adapt units to meet local needs.
