Description
This session examines what we can do in our own way to encourage global understanding focusing on the Arab world. Strategies used with secondary gifted students in building understanding of the Arab people and their cultures are shared, with the results of shattering many myths students have about Arabs, and myths Arabs have about us. James Zogby's book Arab Voices: What they are Saying to Us, and Why it Matters, and the implications for education in the 21st century for peaceful coexistence are discussed.
