Description
Scratch is developed by MIT media lab for all ages to learn programming easily without intensive code writing and practice. Unfortunately, it is not used effectively in teaching Computer Science topics such as searching, sorting, and Graph Theory in middle schools. Instead, kids are guided more on working simple animations or games in Scratch. The interactive session focuses on how to teach CS to gifted middle school students utilizing Scratch. The attendees learn how to design CS problems in Scratch in a more enjoyable and motivating fashion. Sample CS assignments are provided to the attendees. The interactive session will focus on how to teach CS to gifted middle school students utilizing Scratch.
