Description
Setting high expectations for all learners has allowed us to identify more gifted and talented students in a rural Georgia, predominately Black, Title I middle school. When you teach all students as if they are gifted, with rigor and relevance, they rise to the challenge. Carson Middle made AYP for the first time in five years by setting high standards for every child. Staff was trained to use NUA Strategies and Thinking Maps, and they delivered the IB Middle Years Programme to all students. This growth model tracks progress of gifted students.
