Description
We often focus on getting our students into college. However, very little is known about the experiences of gifted and talented students once they get there. In this session, intended for teachers, counselors, and parents, we look at a critical decision for students: the choice of a college major. What fields are most commonly chosen and why? Are academically talented students more or less likely to enter college with no major declared, or to change majors? How do students' expectations and those of others influence this decision? Finally, what are some of the implications of major choices, changes, and indecision?
