Description
Plugging into new technologies just may be the silver bullet in the fight against illiteracy. The literate of today's society are not only those who can read printed text, but those who can navigate the Internet to access information and utilize technology to communicate. As our definition of literacy expands, our instructional techniques must evolve. Free resources like Shelfari and GoodReads can enhance the learning experience of elementary through high school readers and add social contexts to students' reading experiences. Grab your iPad or iPod Touch, log in to your favorite social media site, and go beyond the page.
